Oukaimden
Oukaimden is a small ski resort located in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Marrakech. It is one of the highest ski resorts in Africa and one of only a few places in Morocco where skiing is possible.
Oukaimden is a relatively basic ski resort, offering a limited number of ski lifts and pistes. The skiing season typically runs from December to March, depending on snowfall. The resort's altitude and northerly aspect allow it to retain snow for longer than other areas in the region.
Beyond skiing, Oukaimden offers opportunities for hiking and trekking in the surrounding mountains during the warmer months. The area is also known for its ancient rock carvings, which provide insights into the history of the region. While not a luxurious or highly developed resort, Oukaimden provides a unique and somewhat rustic skiing experience in a North African setting. Its proximity to Marrakech makes it a popular day trip destination for tourists seeking a break from the city.
