Frontul Plugarilor (newspaper)
Frontul Plugarilor was a Romanian newspaper, serving as the official voice of the Ploughmen's Front (Frontul Plugarilor), a political organization active primarily between the two World Wars and in the immediate post-World War II period. The Ploughmen's Front represented the interests of landless peasants and agricultural workers, and the newspaper served as a key instrument for disseminating the party's ideology, platform, and news related to its activities. It was particularly influential in rural areas and promoted agrarian reform and social justice, often advocating for land redistribution and improved living conditions for the peasantry. The newspaper's prominence grew significantly after World War II as the Ploughmen's Front aligned with the Communist Party, playing a role in the establishment of the Communist regime in Romania. Following the full establishment of Communist control, the Ploughmen's Front was eventually absorbed into the Romanian Workers' Party (later the Romanian Communist Party), and the newspaper likely ceased independent publication or was integrated into a larger state-controlled media outlet.
