Osuchy
Osuchy is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łuków, within Łuków County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-west of Łuków and 84 km (52 mi) north of the regional capital Lublin. The population is approximately 600.
Osuchy is known for its historical significance during World War II. It was the site of a significant battle between Polish partisans and German forces in June 1944, specifically the Battle of Osuchy. This battle was one of the largest partisan battles fought in occupied Poland and resulted in heavy losses for the Polish resistance. A monument and memorial site commemorate the events and honor those who fought and died there. The village continues to hold commemorative events related to this historical event.
Economically, Osuchy is largely agricultural, with farming as the primary occupation for many residents. The surrounding area is characterized by fields and forests. The village features basic infrastructure, including a primary school and church.
