Orleans (TV series)

Orleans was an American drama television series that aired on CBS as part of its mid-season replacement schedule in January 1997. Created by Toni Graphia and Robert Singer, the show lasted for only eight episodes.

The series starred Donnie Wahlberg as Detective Bobby LeBeau, CCH Pounder as Judge Loretta LeBeau, and Larry Gilliard Jr. as Jesse Ray LeBeau. The premise centered around the LeBeau family, a powerful and influential Creole family living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Judge Loretta LeBeau, the family matriarch, navigates the complexities of the legal system and her personal life, while dealing with family dramas involving her two sons: Bobby, a police detective investigating crimes in the city, and Jesse, a troubled young man struggling with his past.

The show aimed to portray the unique culture and atmosphere of New Orleans, exploring themes of family loyalty, racial identity, corruption, and justice within the backdrop of the city's vibrant music scene and distinct social fabric. Despite attempting to capture the spirit of New Orleans and building storylines around complex characters, Orleans failed to gain a substantial audience and was ultimately canceled after a short run.
