Oostendam

Oostendam is a village in the municipality of Alblasserdam, in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is located on the eastern edge of Alblasserdam, bordering the River Noord. Historically, Oostendam developed as a separate settlement but has become increasingly integrated with Alblasserdam over time. It is primarily a residential area with a mix of older and newer housing. Oostendam's character is strongly influenced by its proximity to the river and its historical connection to shipping and shipbuilding activities that were once prevalent in the region.
