Nuova Era (record label)

Nuova Era was an Italian record label specializing in classical music recordings. Founded in the late 1980s, it was known for its extensive catalogue of opera, particularly lesser-known works and revivals of forgotten operas from the Baroque, Classical, and early Romantic periods.

The label's output included complete opera recordings, orchestral works, chamber music, and vocal recitals. Nuova Era was particularly noted for its commitment to historical performance practice, often featuring period instruments and historically informed interpretations.

While Nuova Era produced many high-quality recordings, its distribution was sometimes inconsistent, leading to limited availability in certain markets. The label ceased operations in the late 2000s, and its catalogue has since been licensed to other labels.
