Peter Baker (golfer)

Peter Baker (born 1967) is an English professional golfer.

Baker turned professional in 1985 and initially made a name for himself on the European Tour. His most significant victory came at the 1993 Open Championship held at Royal St. George's. Baker entered the final round with a lead and held on to win, becoming the first Englishman to win the Open Championship since Nick Faldo in 1992. He defeated Jesper Parnevik by one stroke.

In addition to his Open Championship win, Baker has several other professional victories, including the Benson & Hedges International Open in 1988 and the Murphy's Irish Open in 1993. He has also represented Europe in the Ryder Cup, playing in 1993 and 1995. His performance in the 1993 Ryder Cup was particularly notable, contributing significantly to the European victory.

Following his playing career, Baker has worked as a golf commentator and coach.
