Champlain (Province of Canada electoral district)

Champlain was a provincial electoral district in the province of Canada, created for the 1854 election. It was located in what is now Quebec. It elected one member to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. The district was abolished with the advent of Confederation in 1867. Its territory was then divided for representation in the new provincial and federal systems. It was named after Samuel de Champlain, the founder of New France. The primary communities within the district included Sainte-Geneviève-de-Batiscan and Champlain.
