No Strings (1989 TV series)
No Strings was a short-lived American sitcom that aired on NBC in 1989. The series starred Elaine Elías as Diana Swain, a single mother working as a waitress, and John Schneider as Mac 'Mack' Machiavelli, a swinging bachelor and construction worker.
The premise of the show revolved around Diana and Mack's unconventional agreement to have a purely physical relationship, with "no strings" attached, while also dealing with the complications and potential for deeper feelings that arose from their arrangement. The show explored the challenges of maintaining a casual relationship, especially with Diana's young daughter, Katie (played by Alisan Porter), factoring into their lives.
No Strings was created by Frank Cardea and George Schenck. It was cancelled after only five episodes due to low ratings.
