New York State Route 338 (1980–1996)
New York State Route 338 (NY 338) was a short state highway located in western New York, entirely within Allegany County. It existed from 1980 to 1996 and served as a connector route between NY 417 and NY 19, linking the village of Andover with the hamlet of Whitesville. NY 338 was approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) long. The route's designation was removed in 1996 as part of a larger effort by the New York State Department of Transportation to streamline the state highway system and eliminate redundancy where maintenance agreements allowed. The former routing of NY 338 is now maintained by Allegany County and is designated as County Route 26.
