Nõmmeotsa

Nõmmeotsa is a place name in Estonia. It most commonly refers to a village (küla) in Anija Parish (Anija vald), Harju County (Harju maakond). It can also less frequently refer to a former smallholder farmstead (talukoht) or a geographical feature located near the aforementioned village. Due to Estonian place name conventions, "-otsa" generally indicates a location at the end, edge, or point of something, and "Nõmme" refers to a heath or sandy, sparsely wooded area. Therefore, "Nõmmeotsa" suggests a location at the edge of a heath or sandy woodland.
