Ron Ward (cricketer)
Ron Ward (born Ronald George Ward on January 2, 1929, in Petersham, New South Wales, Australia, died January 1, 2024) was an Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for New South Wales. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Ward made his debut for New South Wales in the 1950/51 season. He primarily played as a middle-order batsman, contributing to the New South Wales team throughout the 1950s. Although never selected for the Australian national team, he was a consistent performer at the first-class level. His career concluded in the early 1960s. Following his playing career, he remained involved in cricket through administrative roles and coaching. He passed away one day shy of his 95th birthday.
