Monniaz
Monniaz is a hamlet located in the Swiss canton of Vaud, within the district of Jura-Nord vaudois. It is situated near the town of Yverdon-les-Bains. Monniaz is primarily a residential and agricultural area, characterized by its rural setting.
The community forms part of the municipality of Vully-les-Lacs since a merger in 2011. Prior to this, Monniaz was part of the municipality of Mur. As such, information regarding its population, local governance, and community events is generally incorporated within the broader context of Vully-les-Lacs.
Economically, Monniaz relies on agriculture, particularly viticulture (wine growing) due to its location within the Vully wine region. Residents may also commute to nearby towns and cities, such as Yverdon-les-Bains, for employment.
The surrounding landscape is marked by rolling hills and vineyards, offering scenic views of Lake Neuchâtel. Its tranquil atmosphere provides a contrast to the more urbanized areas of the region.
