Mochras

Mochras is a coastal village and former civil parish in Gwynedd, Wales. It is situated on the Llyn Peninsula, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Pwllheli.

The name "Mochras" likely derives from the Welsh word for "swine marsh" or "pig marsh," referring to the marshy or boggy nature of the land in the area.

Historically, Mochras was an agricultural community. With increasing tourism on the Llyn Peninsula, Mochras has developed as a small tourist destination, offering access to beaches and coastal walks. Its coastal location makes it popular for activities such as fishing and watersports.

The former civil parish of Mochras was incorporated into the community of Llanengan.
