Michael Mayer (footballer)

Michael Mayer is an American football tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Notre Dame, where he was a consensus All-American.

Born in Independence, Kentucky, Mayer attended Covington Catholic High School. He was a highly touted recruit and committed to Notre Dame.

At Notre Dame, Mayer quickly became a key contributor, breaking freshman receiving records. He was known for his reliable hands, blocking ability, and toughness. He was a multiple-time All-American nominee and a Mackey Award finalist (given to the nation's top tight end).

Mayer was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He is expected to play a significant role in the Raiders' offense.
