Jesús Castillo (Peruvian footballer)

Jesús Castillo Molina (born June 11, 2001) is a Peruvian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Portuguese Primeira Liga club Gil Vicente and the Peru national team.

Castillo began his professional career with Sporting Cristal in the Peruvian Primera División. He progressed through the youth ranks of the club and made his senior debut in 2019. He quickly established himself as a key player for Sporting Cristal, contributing to their league title wins in 2020 and 2022. He also participated in Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana competitions with the club.

In July 2023, Castillo transferred to Gil Vicente in Portugal.

At the international level, Castillo has represented Peru at various youth levels. He made his debut for the senior Peru national team in 2022. He has since become a regular member of the national team squad, participating in friendly matches and qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup. He is known for his strong tackling, tactical awareness, and ability to break up opposition attacks.
