Shane Byrne (footballer)

Shane Byrne (born May 14, 1993) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder.

Byrne began his professional career with Leicester City, although he did not make a senior appearance for the club. He later joined Stevenage on loan and subsequently signed permanently with the club. He also had loan spells at Cambridge United and Corby Town.

Following his time at Stevenage, Byrne played for various clubs including Bohemians, Crumlin United, and Shelbourne in the League of Ireland Premier Division and First Division. He has been a regular player at several levels of Irish domestic football. He also represented the Republic of Ireland at underage levels. His career has included spells in both England and Ireland.
