Takelot I

Takelot I was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the Twenty-Second Dynasty. His reign is generally dated to the late 9th century BCE. He is believed to have ruled from Tanis in Lower Egypt.

Historical sources regarding Takelot I are limited, making it challenging to establish a precise chronology of his reign and family relationships. He is often associated with the High Priest of Amun Nimlot C, who could have been his son. The king's parentage is a subject of debate among Egyptologists, with some suggesting he was the son of Osorkon I, and others proposing a different lineage.

Evidence for Takelot I's reign primarily comes from inscriptions on monuments and artifacts, notably from the Bubastite Portal at Karnak. However, these sources don't provide a comprehensive picture of his activities or the events that transpired during his rule.
