Michael James (cricketer, born 1934)

Michael James (born 1934) was an English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler, James played first-class cricket for Cambridge University and Derbyshire.

He played for Cambridge University from 1954 to 1956, gaining his Blue. His highest score for Cambridge was 105 against the Free Foresters in 1956.

Following his time at Cambridge, James played for Derbyshire from 1957 to 1962. His highest score for Derbyshire was 96 against Warwickshire in 1960. He also took his best bowling figures of 5/60 against Nottinghamshire in 1960.

In total, he played 87 first-class matches, scoring 2,766 runs at an average of 19.20 with one century and 12 half-centuries. He also took 92 wickets at an average of 38.68.
