Mesulfen

Mesulfen is a topical scabicide and acaricide. It is an organosulfur compound historically used in the treatment of scabies, eczema, and other skin conditions caused by mites or other parasites. It works by killing the mites responsible for these conditions. Mesulfen is applied directly to the skin as a cream or lotion. While effective, mesulfen has largely been superseded by newer treatments with fewer side effects and more targeted mechanisms of action. Its use is now less common in many parts of the world.
