Medrano (Buenos Aires Underground)
Medrano is a station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground (Subte). It is located beneath Avenida Corrientes at its intersection with Avenida Medrano, in the Almagro neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
The station was inaugurated on October 17, 1930, as part of the original section of Line B between Federico Lacroze and Callao. The station is named after Avenida Medrano, which in turn is named after Dr. Manuel Medrano, an Argentine politician and lawyer who was active in the early 19th century.
Medrano station features two side platforms serving two tracks. The platforms are decorated with murals depicting scenes related to the history and culture of the Almagro neighborhood. Like other stations on Line B, it was originally designed in a Art Deco style.
The station provides access to numerous bus lines that operate along Avenida Corrientes and Avenida Medrano, making it a significant transportation hub. It is also located near various commercial establishments, residential buildings, and educational institutions.
