Meandarra

Meandarra is a rural town in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 410 kilometers west of Brisbane.

History:

The area was originally inhabited by Indigenous Australians of the Jarowair people. European settlement began in the late 19th century, primarily for pastoral activities. The town's name is believed to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "plenty of water." Meandarra developed as a service center for the surrounding agricultural district, particularly for sheep and cattle grazing, and later, grain production.
