Human (TV series)

Human is a British science fiction television drama series that aired on Channel 4 in 2015. It is written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, based on the Swedish science fiction drama Äkta Människor (Real Humans).

The series explores the moral, social, and ethical implications of the creation and use of highly advanced, human-like androids called "Synths." Set in a suburban London, the story follows several families who purchase Synths to assist with household chores and other tasks. As the Synths become more integrated into human society, questions arise about their sentience, their rights, and the potential dangers they pose to humanity.

The narrative focuses on both human characters grappling with the impact of Synths on their lives and relationships, and on a group of rogue Synths who have developed consciousness and are seeking to live freely. The show examines themes of artificial intelligence, identity, discrimination, and the meaning of being human. Notable cast members include Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, and William Hurt. A second series aired in 2016.
