Han Hong (poet)
Han Hong (韓翃, circa 720s – 780s) was a Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty, known for his works depicting the realities of war and the lives of common people. While less celebrated than some of his contemporaries, his poetry offers a valuable glimpse into the social and political climate of the period. His style is often characterized by its straightforwardness and emotional depth, focusing on tangible experiences rather than elaborate metaphors. Much of his surviving work deals with the An Lushan Rebellion (755-763), reflecting the devastation and suffering it caused. He held official positions, though the details of his career remain somewhat obscure. Further research is needed to fully document his life and the extent of his literary output, as extant collections may not represent the full scope of his poetic achievement.
