Bestwina

Bestwina is a village and municipality (gmina) in Bielsko County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is located approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-east of Bielsko-Biała and 41 kilometres (25 mi) south of Katowice.

The municipality covers an area of 17.07 square kilometres (6.6 sq mi), and as of 2019 its population is 11,731.

Historically, the area was part of Cieszyn Silesia. The name is of topographic origin, likely referring to a place "better" (Polish: bestwi) than others.

The municipality is largely rural, with agriculture being a significant economic activity. It contains the villages of Bestwina and Bestwinka.
