Molinux
Molinux was a Spanish Linux distribution based on Debian. It was primarily targeted towards educational institutions and home users in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The project aimed to provide a user-friendly and accessible Linux operating system that could be easily adopted by individuals with limited technical expertise.
Molinux emphasized ease of use through a customized desktop environment, pre-installed applications suited for common tasks (such as word processing, web browsing, and multimedia playback), and comprehensive documentation in Spanish. It also included specific tools and configurations designed to be beneficial within an educational setting, like support for educational software and network management tools suited for schools.
Different versions of Molinux were created, each tailored to specific user groups or hardware configurations. The distribution aimed to promote the use of free and open-source software within the Castilla-La Mancha region. The project experienced varying levels of activity and support throughout its lifespan. The development of Molinux has seemingly ceased in recent years, with no active updates or new releases available.
