Matt Watson (footballer, born 1985)
Matt Watson (born 1 October 1985) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
Watson began his career at Leicester City, progressing through their youth system before making his professional debut in 2003. He spent several seasons at Leicester, experiencing promotion to the Championship and later relegation.
In 2008, Watson moved to Hartlepool United, where he became a regular in the first team. He later joined Bradford City in 2011, where he remained for two seasons.
Following his time at Bradford City, Watson signed for Luton Town in 2013. He enjoyed success at Luton, winning the Conference Premier title and subsequently promotion back to the Football League.
Watson's subsequent clubs included Grimsby Town and North Ferriby United. He finished his playing career in non-league football.
Throughout his career, Watson was known for his combative style and his ability to win possession in midfield.
