King James (horse)

King James was a Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1915. He was owned and bred by Samuel D. Riddle at his Glen Riddle Farm in Berlin, Maryland. His sire was Sweep, a leading American sire, and his dam was Gray Queen.

King James is primarily known for being the half-brother to the legendary Man o' War. Although he did not achieve the same level of fame as his younger sibling, King James was a capable racehorse in his own right. He competed in several important races during his career but did not achieve any significant stakes victories.

While his racing record was modest compared to Man o' War, King James contributed to the legacy of Glen Riddle Farm and the renowned bloodlines that originated there.
