Diamond Island (Grenadines)
Diamond Island is a small, uninhabited islet located in the Grenadine archipelago, part of the island nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is situated approximately one nautical mile south of the larger island of Carriacou, which belongs to Grenada.
Characterized by its rugged terrain and rocky coastline, Diamond Island is primarily composed of volcanic rock. Vegetation is sparse, consisting mainly of hardy grasses and scrub. The island is not known to have any permanent sources of fresh water.
Due to its small size and lack of resources, Diamond Island holds no permanent settlements and is primarily visited by yachtsmen, divers, and snorkelers. The surrounding waters offer opportunities for recreational activities, particularly due to the clear visibility and diverse marine life present in the area. The island is generally uninhabited, except for occasional visitors. Its status as an uninhabited islet contributes to its natural environment, which offers refuge for seabirds and other local wildlife.
