José Olguín (footballer)
José Olguín (born December 26, 1950) is a retired Argentine football defender. He was a member of the Argentina national team that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
Olguín started his professional career with San Lorenzo in 1971. He was part of the San Lorenzo team that won the Campeonato Metropolitano and Campeonato Nacional in 1972, and the Campeonato Nacional in 1974.
In 1978, he joined Independiente, where he played until 1980. He then moved to Argentinos Juniors, where he played until his retirement in 1983.
Olguín played 60 games for the Argentina national team between 1976 and 1982. He was an undisputed starter for the team during the 1978 World Cup, playing in every game as Argentina claimed their first World Cup title. He also represented Argentina at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
After retirement from professional football, Olguín has been involved in coaching and football administration.
