Johnny Johnston (baseball)
Johnny Johnston (born July 17, 1944) is a former professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the California Angels (1967-1969) and the Houston Astros (1970).
Johnston was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 19th round of the 1966 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut on April 16, 1967, for the California Angels. In his MLB career, Johnston appeared in 64 games, including 17 starts. He had a career win-loss record of 4-9 with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.36. In 154.1 innings pitched, he recorded 55 strikeouts.
After his playing career, Johnston remained involved in baseball as a coach.
