Marrow (novel)

Marrow is a 2021 young adult dystopian science fiction novel by American author, Elizabeth Lim. The novel is the sequel to Lim's 2018 debut, Spin the Dawn, and the conclusion to the duology known as The Blood of Stars.

The story continues the journey of Maia Tamarin, now Empress Maia Kumaresan of the Shansen Empire, as she navigates political intrigue, magical threats, and personal challenges. Having secured the legendary garments needed to mend the sun, moon, and stars, Maia must now grapple with the consequences of her actions and the power she wields. The narrative explores themes of duty, sacrifice, love, and the complexities of leadership in a world teetering on the brink of war.

Key plot elements involve the ongoing conflict with the Emperor of the Northern Lands, the ramifications of the restored magical artifacts, and Maia's internal struggles as she balances her responsibilities to her people with her own desires and well-being.
