- The Holy Martyr Agapius and the seven holy martyrs with him, at Gaza: (including Publius, Timolaus, Romulus, Alexander, Alexander, Dionysius, and Dionysius)
- Hieromartyr Theodotus, Bishop of Cyrenia in Cyprus (c. 326)
- Venerable Agathon of Egypt (435)
- Venerable Gregory, Pope of Rome, Dialogist (604) ( moved from March 12)
- Venerable Aristobulus, Bishop of Britain, one of the Seventy Apostles (1st century)
- Blessed Cassian the Roman, monk of Uglich (1504)
- Hieromartyr Nicander, priest, and Martyr John (1918)
- New Martyr Basil of Ankara (1922)
This date also marks the beginning of the Lenten Triodion period, which is a preparatory period leading up to Great Lent. Depending on the Paschalion (the calculation of the date of Easter), March 15 can fall within the period of Great Lent, or the week immediately before Great Lent. Therefore, special Lenten liturgical practices may be in effect.
