Manning Administration (1991–1995)

The Manning Administration (1991–1995) refers to the first term in office of Patrick Manning as Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. Manning, leader of the People's National Movement (PNM), assumed office following the PNM's victory in the 1991 general election. This election saw the PNM regain power after a period of rule by the National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR).

Key aspects of the Manning Administration during this period included a focus on economic liberalization and diversification, including privatization of state-owned enterprises. The government also implemented various social programs and infrastructure development projects. The administration faced challenges including high unemployment and social unrest. In 1995, the PNM lost the general election to the United National Congress (UNC) led by Basdeo Panday, ending Manning's first term as Prime Minister.
