MV Peveril (1971)

The MV Peveril (1971) was a passenger and car ferry operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. She was built by Ailsa Shipbuilding Company in Troon, Scotland, and entered service in 1974 (delayed from her original 1971 launch date). She served primarily on routes between the Isle of Man and various ports in England and Ireland, including Liverpool, Ardrossan, and Dublin.

The Peveril was designed to carry both passengers and vehicles, contributing significantly to the transport infrastructure serving the Isle of Man. She was known for her distinctive appearance and played a prominent role in the island's maritime history during her years of service.

She was withdrawn from service in 1993 and subsequently sold. Her later history involved various owners and uses, including a period as a static hotel ship in Rotterdam. The vessel was eventually scrapped in 2002.
