Louth, Lincolnshire (UK Parliament constituency)
Louth, Lincolnshire was a county constituency in Lincolnshire, England, which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
History
The constituency was created by the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, replacing the two-member constituency of North Lincolnshire. It comprised the Sessional Divisions of Louth, Alford, and Spilsby, along with parts of the Horncastle Sessional Division.
The constituency existed from 1885 until 1918. For the 1918 general election, the Louth constituency was abolished and replaced by the Louth division of Holland with Boston.
Boundaries
The constituency covered the area around the market town of Louth in the East Lindsey district. It also included the coastal town of Alford and the market town of Spilsby.
