Lord Archibald Hamilton (1769–1827)

Lord Archibald Hamilton (1769-1827) was a Scottish Whig politician and nobleman. He was the eleventh son of Archibald Hamilton, 9th Duke of Hamilton, and his wife, Lady Harriet Stewart.

Hamilton served as the Member of Parliament for Lanarkshire from 1802 to 1806 and again from 1807 to 1837. He was a consistent supporter of parliamentary reform and a vocal critic of government corruption.

He was a prominent figure within the Whig party and known for his independent views and integrity. He advocated for various liberal causes, including the abolition of slavery and the improvement of conditions for the poor. His parliamentary speeches were often well-regarded for their clarity and forcefulness.

Lord Archibald Hamilton died in 1827.
