Long Way to the Top (album)
Long Way to the Top is the debut studio album by Australian rock band The Choirboys, released in 1982. The album's title is a direct reference to the AC/DC song "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)." The album featured a hard rock sound typical of the era and established The Choirboys as a prominent act in the Australian pub rock scene.
The album's key tracks include "Run to Paradise", which became their signature song and a major hit in Australia, and "Boys Will Be Boys." Long Way to the Top was well-received commercially and helped launch the band's career. It achieved platinum certification in Australia.
The album's production aimed for a raw and energetic sound, capturing the band's live performance energy. Thematically, the songs often dealt with themes of youth, rebellion, and the Australian working-class experience. The album's success led to extensive touring and further cemented The Choirboys' place in Australian rock history.
