Lifer (band)
Lifer was an American nu metal band formed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1999. The band consisted of Aaron Fink (guitar), Mark Klepaski (bass), Tony Kruszka (drums), and Nick Coyle (vocals).
Lifer gained popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, primarily known for their aggressive sound and angst-ridden lyrics, typical of the nu metal genre. They achieved national recognition after winning a MTV "Wanna Be a Rock Star" contest in 2000, which led to a recording contract with Universal Records.
Their debut, and only, album, Lifer, was released in 2001. The album featured singles such as "Mob Hit" and "Boring." While the album reached some commercial success, it did not achieve significant mainstream popularity.
Following the release of their album, Lifer faced internal conflicts and struggled with maintaining a cohesive direction. In 2003, the band announced their disbandment.
Following the breakup, several members went on to other musical projects. Aaron Fink and Mark Klepaski later joined Breaking Benjamin. Nick Coyle formed the band Cold Lavender and subsequently continued with solo projects. The members of Lifer have pursued various musical endeavors since the band's dissolution.
