Life as We Know It (TV series)
Life as We Know It is an American teen drama television series that aired on ABC during the 2004-2005 television season. Based on the British novel Doing It by Melvin Burgess, the show focused on the lives of three teenage boys, Dino Whitman, Ben Connor, and Jonathan Fields, as they navigated the complexities of high school, friendship, and sexual exploration.
The series was created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. Its premise centered around the boys' experiences with sex, love, and identity as they matured. Each episode often featured interwoven storylines, highlighting the different perspectives and challenges faced by each character. The show aimed to portray the realities of teenage life in a frank and often humorous manner.
The main cast included Chris Lowell as Dino Whitman, Sean Faris as Ben Connor, and Jon Foster as Jonathan Fields. The series also featured Lisa Foiles as Addy, Jonathan's younger sister, and Missy Peregrym as Jackie Bradford, Dino's love interest.
Despite attempting to tackle relevant issues for teenagers, Life as We Know It faced low viewership and was ultimately canceled after thirteen episodes, with only nine episodes being aired in the United States. While it generated some controversy due to its explicit content and mature themes, it garnered a small but dedicated following.
