Les Parry (footballer)
Les Parry (born 26 January 1957) is an English former professional footballer and physiotherapist. He is best known for his long association with Tranmere Rovers, where he served as a player, physiotherapist, and manager.
Playing Career:
Parry began his playing career as a defender. He joined Tranmere Rovers as an apprentice and progressed through the youth ranks to become a first-team player. He played for Tranmere Rovers between 1974 and 1977. He also had a short spell with Oswestry Town. His playing career was cut short due to a knee injury.
Physiotherapy Career:
Following the end of his playing days, Parry retrained as a physiotherapist. He rejoined Tranmere Rovers as their physiotherapist, a position he held for over two decades. He was highly regarded for his dedication and expertise in treating player injuries.
Managerial Career:
In October 2009, Parry was appointed caretaker manager of Tranmere Rovers following the departure of John Barnes. He was subsequently appointed permanent manager in March 2010. Parry's time as manager was challenging, with the club facing financial difficulties and relegation battles. He left his role as manager in March 2012.
