Jacksonville Sharks (WFL)
The Jacksonville Sharks were a professional American football team that played in the World Football League (WFL) in 1974. They were based in Jacksonville, Florida, and played their home games at the Gator Bowl.
The Sharks were owned by Fran Monaco and coached by Bud Asher. The team struggled on the field, finishing with a record of 4 wins and 14 losses. Despite the poor record, the Sharks featured some notable players, including quarterback Kay Stephenson.
The team folded along with the rest of the WFL in the middle of the 1975 season. The WFL struggled financially and was unable to sustain itself, leading to the demise of all its teams, including the Jacksonville Sharks.
