Kovernino

Kovernino is a settlement and the administrative center of Koverninsky District in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.

It is located on the Uzola River, approximately 85 kilometers (53 miles) northwest of Nizhny Novgorod.

Kovernino was first mentioned in historical records in the 16th century. It was granted urban-type settlement status in 1961.
