Koh Puos

Koh Puos (also known as Snake Island) is a Cambodian island located off the coast of Sihanoukville. It is part of the Ream National Park archipelago.

Koh Puos is currently undergoing significant development into a large tourism and residential resort, known as "Morakot Island." This development includes infrastructure such as roads, a bridge connecting it to the mainland, a marina, hotels, residences, and a golf course. The development has significantly altered the natural landscape of the island.

Prior to development, Koh Puos was largely uninhabited and characterized by forested areas and beaches. Its relative proximity to Sihanoukville and the mainland made it an attractive location for investment and tourism development.

The island’s development has been controversial, raising concerns about environmental impact, sustainability, and displacement of any potential existing inhabitants (though reports suggest the island was largely uninhabited prior to development). The scale of the project aims to transform Koh Puos into a major tourist destination within Cambodia.
