Kevin Reynolds (director)
Kevin Reynolds is an American film director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing films such as Fandango (1985), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Waterworld (1995), The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), and Risen (2016).
Reynolds often collaborates with actor Kevin Costner, although their working relationship has sometimes been turbulent. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was a major box office success, but Waterworld was plagued by production difficulties and, despite its box office returns, was initially considered a financial failure. Reynolds left Waterworld during post-production due to creative differences with Costner, who took over editing duties.
Reynolds' films often feature themes of adventure, historical settings, and moral conflict. He has worked across various genres, from coming-of-age stories to action epics and religious dramas. His filmography demonstrates a willingness to tackle large-scale projects, though his critical reception has been mixed.
