James Coleman (broadcaster)
James Coleman (born c. 1944, died February 13, 2024) was a veteran broadcaster and weatherman, most notably associated with The Weather Channel. He was a co-founder of The Weather Channel in 1982 and served as its first on-air meteorologist. Prior to this, Coleman held positions at various television stations, including stints in Chicago at WMAQ-TV and ABC 7. He was known for his passionate and sometimes controversial viewpoints regarding climate change, often expressing skepticism about the extent of human influence. In his later years, Coleman continued to share his weather knowledge and perspectives through his website and social media platforms.
