Ken Light
Ken Light is an American documentary photographer and photojournalist known for his work focusing on social issues, labor, and inequality. He is the Reva and David Logan Professor of Photojournalism at the University of California, Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, where he has taught since 1983.
Light's photography often documents the lives of working-class Americans, farmworkers, and communities affected by poverty and environmental degradation. He has authored several books, including "Delta Time," "Coal Hollow," "To the Promised Land," and "Valley of Shadows and Dreams." His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in numerous museum collections.
Light's approach emphasizes long-term engagement with his subjects, aiming to create photographs that not only document reality but also promote social awareness and change.
