Skillet (band)
Skillet is an American Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. The band currently consists of husband and wife John and Korey Cooper along with Jen Ledger and Seth Morrison. John Cooper is the only founding member still in the band.
Skillet has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, and several singles. They have experimented with various subgenres of rock and metal, including Christian rock, hard rock, alternative rock, nu metal, and symphonic metal.
Skillet gained mainstream recognition with their 2006 album Comatose, which was certified Platinum by the RIAA. Their 2009 album Awake reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified 3x Platinum. Their success continued with subsequent albums such as Rise (2013), Unleashed (2016), and Victorious (2019), all of which charted within the top 5 of the Billboard 200.
Known for their high-energy live performances and blend of melodic and heavy sounds, Skillet has toured extensively throughout the world. They have been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and have won several Dove Awards. Skillet is one of the best-selling Christian rock bands of the 21st century.
