Fe (Armenian letter)
Fe (Ֆ,ֆ) is the 38th and last letter of the Eastern Armenian alphabet and the 39th letter of the Western Armenian alphabet. It represents the voiceless labiodental fricative (/f/). This sound is not native to Armenian and the letter was introduced relatively late in the development of the alphabet to accommodate loanwords. It is transliterated as "f" in most romanization schemes.
The letter Fe appears in both upper case (Ֆ) and lower case (ֆ) forms. Its numerical value in Armenian numerology is 9000. It is not a common letter in native Armenian words, primarily appearing in foreign loanwords from languages such as Greek, French, and English. Examples include words like "ֆիլմ" (film), "ֆուտբոլ" (football), and "ֆիզիկա" (physics).
