Justin McNulty
Justin McNulty (born 1974) is an Irish politician and former Gaelic footballer. He is a Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) member of the Northern Ireland Assembly, representing Newry and Armagh since 2022, and previously from 2016 to 2017.
Prior to his political career, McNulty achieved prominence as a Gaelic footballer for Armagh. He was a key member of the Armagh team that won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 2002, the county's first All-Ireland title. He played as a midfielder and was known for his athleticism and work rate.
McNulty's political involvement began with the SDLP. He served as a councillor on Newry, Mourne and Down District Council before being elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2016. During his time in the Assembly, he has served on various committees and has been a vocal advocate for issues affecting his constituency. He lost his seat in the 2017 Assembly election but regained it in 2022.
